Mrs. Quinn’s Rise to Fame is a Great British Bake Off-esque story about an older woman in her golden years contemplating her purpose and learning that you really can start over at any age. Mrs. Quinn’s life is small and quiet, but richly filled with her marriage to Bernard and the family they’ve created for themselves. Throughout the book, Mrs. Quinn slowly reveals parts of her personal history that have clouded and complicated the thing she loves most. She learns that in order to make sense of the present, she needs to make peace with the past.
